Russia[edit]

The entry for July 7th is incorrect. The establishment of the Russian Provisional Government and the end of Tsarist Russia occured between March 2rd (when it was proclaimed, headed by Prince G.E. Lvov) and 4th (when Grand Duke Michael declined the throne) (A.F. Kerensky, Russia and History’s Turning Point (New York: Duell, Sloan and Pearce, 1965), 209-216.) The date of July 7th likely refers to when Kerensky became prime minister, replacing Prince Lvov. Nonetheless, it was not the date the Provisional Government was formed, and certainly not the date of the end of the Tsarist monarchy (hence why they call it the "Feburary Revolution"). Date style[edit]

In regards to above, March 2nd and 4th are Old Style dates, as is the original date of July 7th. July 7th OS is July 20th NS, and the entry has been changed to the new date, with the more correct information. A note for the official ascension of the Provisional Government has been added as well.Shane Lin 03:05, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Danish West Indies[edit]

The sale of the Danish West Indies to the US is entered under both the 17 and the 25 January.

I noticed that. My sources are not always correct on some of these things -- I didn't put it into the 25th article, but I didn't take it out, either, because I'm not sure which one is correct. -- Zoe

Year in topic[edit]

I think the page layout for "year in topic" in some places where it is flagged in the box as on this page 1915 is better. I seek opinions before making them all the same. In this particular case the duplication from the year in sport would need to go BozMo(talk)

Prostitution[edit]

Does anyone else think that the 25 January prostitution thing either deserves trimming or its own article? --Improv 19:03, 23 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Replacement for what?[edit]

With reference to the formation of the NHL on November 26: it is described as a "replacement", but for what exactly? I don't know hockey, I'm afraid, so I wouldn't know where to begin researching this one. JFH78 (talk) 22:43, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Kingsland, New Jersey explosion[edit]

I have modified the entry for this event to reflect that this event was only one of the events which led to U.S. involvement in WWI.
