Was also called prev North Greenfield, and before that Honey Creek. --Purpleslog 04:10, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why does it list "Home of Miss West Allis" in the info box on the right? That doesn't seem to be relevant there, unless I am missing something —Preceding unsigned comment added by Boucher4 (talkcontribs) 23:41, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The question is, why is it called "West" Allis? I have yet to find any references to an "East Allis" or even just an "Allis" lying to the east of it.69.95.237.66 (talk) 16:28, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

One version I heard: It had something to do with the 5 Corners settlement being the station just of "West" of the stop for the Allis Company.12.2.10.242 (talk) 22:50, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This doesn't explain it either, but it hints at it:

From the West Allis Historical Society: http://www.westallishistory.org/A%20Short%20History%20of%20West%20Allis.htm

So, the City ended up growing around the economic effect of the Allis Company which had moved WEST from its original location in Milwaukee.

That is pretty lazy naming. Oh well.

We would be better off calling ourselves "Hot Allis" or ".East Brookfield".12.2.10.242 (talk) 22:57, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
