Untitled[edit]

I believe this list to be incomplete at present. I created it as a starting point so that it could be used in a Battlebox template, but I need to do some research on additional conflicts to include.--Craig Stuntz 15:17, 12 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I am adding the Battle of Inverurie (1745) mjgm84 17:23, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Post Culloden incidents and skirmishes[edit]

I have added both the Loch Arkaig treasure and Appin Murder articles to the campaign box. The Loch Arkaig treasure article, although not a battle is a significant event concerning the rising of 1745. The Appin Murder article, is also part of the fall out of the 1745 rising. There may also be post-Culloden skirmishes, that as actual military actions, could also be added to the campaign box at some point if articles are created for them. The Appin Murder article focuses on the subject of the murder and is not an article about an individual. However, there are various post-Culloden incidents that are mentioned in articles about individuals which could be added to the box, although I am not sure if adding links to individual people is appropriate. Here are a few examples of what could be included, post-Culloden:

Skirmishes[edit]

I have two post-Culloden skirmishes that I will be adding articles for in due course. The first took place on 2 May 1746 when British ships engaged in combat with privateer ships who were supporting the Jacobites. The second was a skirmish between Jacobites of the Clan MacDonald of Clan Ranald and a Government force in Moidart on 9 May 1746.QuintusPetillius (talk) 15:38, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Now added.QuintusPetillius (talk) 20:27, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have also added the Skirmish of Arisaig article to the template which was the final post-Culloden skirmish. However, there may be more pre-Culloden skirmishes that could be added. For example the Siege of Culloden House in 1745.QuintusPetillius (talk) 16:02, 4 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Finally, I have now added the Skirmish of Loch nan Uamh, Skirmish of Loch Ailort, Skirmish of Arisaig and the Raids on Lochaber and Shiramore, all as post-Culloden skirmishes. There may be a few more pre-Culloden skirmishes to add articles for: the Siege of Culloden House and also the siege of Edinburgh Castle which is mentioned on the Edinburgh Castle page but if enough information can be found then it could have its own article.QuintusPetillius (talk) 11:56, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
