February 2023[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Stromboli, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. —DIYeditor (talk) 08:58, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Stromboli. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. You have already been directed to WP:BRD and you were reverted and invited to discuss this on the talk page. At this point you are engaged in an edit war. Please read WP:BRD. —DIYeditor (talk) 09:00, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Stromboli (island) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. —DIYeditor (talk) 09:28, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stop it, I've explained what I did and added sourced content, you even agreed. You can't just WP:BLUDGEON your way for no reason, especially on constructive edits. You're misusing the warnings in a egregious way. Abcmaxx (talk) 09:39, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Those rules apply whether the edits are constructive or in the right, and they apply to me as well. I feel like you haven't read WP:3RR, WP:EDITWAR and WP:BRD. You ignored my request to use the take page for some time. Also, clearly a move to "Stromboli Island]] was not constructive as it is not how articles are named on Wikipedia. As I've mentioned in the article talk page, you seem to be confused how links to articles work on Wikipedia and that a wikilink can read anything one likes it regardless of the name of the article being linked to. I don't believe you have read WP:TITLEDAB and WP:PRIMARYTOPIC yet either. At any rate, accurate 3RR warnings are never WP:BLUDGEON. If you revert one more time on Stromboli (island) within the next 24 hours you will be eligible for a block, same goes for me. One may even be blocked merely for engaging in edit warring behavior, and the page moves count toward that. —DIYeditor (talk) 09:48, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stromboli[edit]

Stromboli (disambiguation) is now a malplaced disambiguation page. Also, are you able to help fix the 671 incoming links to Stromboli, which now lead to a disambiguation page and need to be diverted to the appropriate article? Fixing the templates listed here should fix many of them. Certes (talk) 21:33, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Eugeniusz Olszyna moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Eugeniusz Olszyna, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) WP:NFOOTY is no longer a valid SNG, so GNG must be met. It needs several refs from independent, reliable, secondary sources to pass WP:GNG. It should have at least 3 of those. Please remember that routine sports coverage does not satisfy GNG, and that interviews, being primary sources, do not go to notability either. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
