Please read: If you're coming here wondering why I pinged you about vandalism to your user page when there is no obvious recent vandalism in that page's history, it was probably attempted vandalism by an unconfirmed or anonymous user which was caught by this edit filter. I've been monitoring that filter log because I started the RfC that resulted in its creation.

For the record[edit]

As a cis person, I agree that I self-identify as a man. But I haven't been mistaken for a woman nearly often enough to have to introduce myself as either self-identified or cis. On Wikipedia, as you might have noticed, there's virtually no talk of gender identity in cis people's articles or articles about the terrible things they do. In a perfect world, sure, we'd be able to tell who pronouns refer to in context and trust our fellow editors enough to assume they didn't make repeated typos. Maybe one day, he, she and they can all just accept that we were born and raised differently. Maybe that's the feminine energy in me that all people north of the 45th (not 49th!) naturally photosynthesize from moonlight. Maybe world's "funniest" human Norm Macdonald was right all along, and hope is never good. I don't know, Funcrunch. All I know is that you're not alone in not wanting to be too upfront, because our silly little compromise was reverted by someone who (apparently) claims to be one of the starry night skies. Anyway, whoever you are, it was nice negotiating with you, you seem more "radical" than 'terrorist". Maybe we'll work together again, somehow, and it'll stick. Cheers! InedibleHulk (talk) 21:43, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your penchant for multiple consecutive self-edits has resulted in multiple consecutive e-mail notifications to me, lol. It's all good. If you do want to know more about me, feel free to peruse my blog, where I am much more opinionated on trans (and other) topics than I am here on-wiki. Funcrunch (talk) 21:57, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I suck, that's rough. Do the minor edits do it, too? No rush on answering, I think I'll be busy, nothing gets my motor running like an offer of free perusal, thanks for sharing! InedibleHulk (talk) 22:11, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings[edit]

I am just stopping by to say hello and to let you know that your work here is appreciated. I am sorry that some recent conversations have been stressful for you. Please take care. Cullen328 (talk) 20:19, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, appreciated. I might disengage completely at this point if it weren't so important for me that trans and non-binary editors be involved in discussions and decisions that concern us. Funcrunch (talk) 20:23, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hope you're doing OK :)[edit]

Hey. Your comment was high up on my mind when filing the request. As a transfem person myself, I've been getting frustrated and angry at what's been going on at that article and talk page, and even with that I can still only imagine how it is for you transmasc editors when stuff like this happens. I hope once this is over you can take some time to chill and destress, and if there's anything I can do to help just drop me a ping, message, or email :) Sideswipe9th (talk) 20:27, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, appreciated. Transfems get the bulk of transphobia, so I'm only pointing out that I'm transmasc since the subject happened to be the same in this case. Funcrunch (talk) 20:34, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We're strongest when we're together :) Sideswipe9th (talk) 20:38, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
take care of yourselves-both of you. Your voices are "too important to lose", yet at the same time self care is paramount. While Hulk is far from the only problematic editor in the area, I've never been more pleased to see action taken to show the behavior is inappropriate as opposed to topic bans allowing the problems to move to another article topic. Be well. Star Mississippi 01:39, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks - appreciated. Funcrunch (talk) 04:36, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies to the Wikipeida fun cruncher[edit]

I want to apologize for breaking WP:3RR. I believed the page to be inaccurate as it was and called for WP:Discuss_and_Vote before further edits were made. I see now that it may have been a joke that Elon Musk made, in which case my edit may not have had a rightful place on Wikipedia. I will look into the matter in more detail and how it relates to WP:Core_content_policies before contributing more to the Talk:Twitter page. Thank you for bringing this error to my attention and I will endeavor not to make a similar error again. With sincere apologies, MurrayScience (talk) 10:49, 14 April 2023 (UTC).[reply]

Alessandra Korap[edit]

@Funcrunch: Hi! I recently proposed the article Alessandra Korap to the Wikipedia:Translation of the week project, so that it is translated into many different languages if chosen. I've seen you contributed to it, so I was hoping that you would be able to vote for it. If not, that's okay, whatsoever, though I think the community would greatly benefit from this. Thank you for all your work and keep it coming! --Brunnaiz (talk) 21:05, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Precious anniversary[edit]

In regards to your edit to Bryan Johnson (entrepreneur): There is currently an RFC regarding whether or not information about his life extension practices/attempts can be mentioned in the article or not. You may want to take a look at this RFC here. Given that I think it should be mentioned, I am not going to revert your edit, but a certain other editor will likely revert it if he notices it, as he has reverted when other people have added similar information to the article. Vontheri (talk) 10:16, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I neglected to review the (long) talk page discussion before adding the edit; I didn't think that just mentioning he was involved in these practices would be controversial. I certainly don't think my edit implied endorsement or anything, but if it's reverted I honestly don't care that much. Funcrunch (talk) 16:18, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I never thought just mentioning it would be controversial either, nor did I think merely mentioning it is the same as endorsing it. But apparently others (or an other) see it differently... Vontheri (talk) 16:58, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

sj Miller[edit]

I have a bit of interest in that person sj Miller and I wanted to say that it is still incorrect to use they/them/their to refer to sj Miller. I like editing that page and adding extra information about sj Miller. Beebeenewan (talk) 23:41, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I will respond on the article talk page. Funcrunch (talk) 23:47, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The term "null-pronominal"[edit]

Null-pronominal means not using third person pronouns of any kind. I have looked up that term already. Beebeenewan (talk) 23:48, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't put that term in, some other editor did. Please discuss this on the sj Miller talk page, as I already asked. I will remove any further messages from you on my talk page about this article. Funcrunch (talk) 23:52, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:34, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page reversion at Gloria Hemingway[edit]

Thank you for that revert, Funcrunch. For the record, deadnaming is not an adequate reason to revert someone else’s comment (WP:OTHERSCOMMENTS), but WP:NOTFORUM is probably a good enough reason there. — HTGS (talk) 05:37, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, meant to also tag LilianaUwU! — HTGS (talk) 05:38, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I mean, it's mostly NOTFORUM I was going for, but I did take offense with the masculine pronouns personally, hence my revert summary. LilianaUwU (talk / contributions) 16:14, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My bad[edit]

Yo @Funcrunch, apologies for that reversion. I was too hyper in deleting content. Bremps... 03:56, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Understood. I'd just taken the time to specify which sections were completely lacking sources vs those that had only a few, so was miffed. I'd be fine if the discography ultimately gets pared down significantly rather than editors trying to source every single entry. Funcrunch (talk) 03:57, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, I get that. Discography sections tend to get real hairy, especially when a work is more obscure. Bremps... 04:00, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Chelsea Manning pronouns[edit]

I'm reverting your reversion of my edits. My edits were completely consistent with the MOS, making no use of previous pronouns. My edits, including explanation of aspects such as a stepbrother, make the article clearer to read. Please discuss on the Chelsea Manning talk page if you think otherwise. Glad to help! I noticed it because Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor is on my watchlist since I created that article. Funcrunch (talk) 02:03, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Her research and writing is fascinating, isn't it?
I'm about to go cleanup the bazillion misspellings of Taylor's name in Beverly_Smith. While I'd like to think people who care to write about Smith's work would take time to get the name of someone also writing about her work right... Star Mississippi 02:15, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
