Notes[edit]

Just a heads up, User:Dying: this was just moved up to August 2, so it might escape your usual attention. Any thoughts on "to become kingpins"? - Dank (push to talk) 13:47, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Dank, i ended up keeping "to become kingpins" as i am currently unaware of the term being considered inappropriate, although it might be unusual. also, alternative terms mentioned at the drug lord article may be similarly problematic (though i do not think "narcotrafficker" necessarily has the same connotation of power). however, please feel free to copyedit further if you think i am missing anything. thanks for the ping! dying (talk) 00:27, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe "to become kingpins of" -> "while building"? - Dank (push to talk) 00:43, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
oh! i like that line of thought. how about "to build"? for readers unfamiliar with the premise of the series, "to build" makes it more clear that walter white was part of the empire-building process. by the way, to conform with the character limit before i realized that the blurb was missing a "(pictured)", i had previously considered either noting that the premiere date was in october, or appending to the end of the blurb the following sentence:

The film drew positive reviews and won the Critics' Choice Award for Best Movie Made for Television.

if the blurb gets reworded, it might fall under the character limit again, so feel free to use either (or none of) these ideas if you think it is appropriate. the first makes it more clear why people were surprised, as many who suspected that something was being worked on had not expected a release date within two months of the announcement. the second covers what happened after the release, which appears to be completely unaddressed in the blurb, even though it is the main subject of the lead's third of three paragraphs. dying (talk) 01:54, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
