Question[edit]

Are Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar and Mirsarai Economic Zone same? I was going to merge them then realized that they may be seperate. Mehedi Abedin 11:20, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

According to this Dhaka Tribune article, Mirsarai Economic Zone has been consolidated into Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar, so the MEZ page should be redirected to BSMSN Bolideleoi (talk) 12:42, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 9[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Alliance Française de Dhaka, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Financial Express. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Recent edit on Ramna[edit]

I see that you have made an edit on Ramna Thana. You have included several misinformation.

*Ramna is in both DSCC and DNCC: No theyre not. After the creation of Hatirjheel Thana, The part of Ramna that was in DNCC that included areas like New Eskaton and Mogbazar, they are now in the thana of Hatirjheel

*Geography: I really dont blame this on you because banglapedia is outdated but the portions of Ramna that used border Rampura and Tejgaon I/A is now Hatirjheel. You will see that Banglapedia is yet to release articles on the newer thanas such as Hatirjheel and Banani (which had been separated from Gulshan). I havent made any change as you have mentioned "As of 2012".

*Institutes located in Ramna: Nagar Bhaban is in Shahbagh Thana. Shilpakala, Secratariat are located at Segunbagicha which is located in Shahbagh Thana. Supreme Court is also in Shahbagh Thana, next to Segunbagicha.

Also the mentions of Dhaka University, Bangla Academy and Suhrawardy Udyan has also been removed because, although they were initially in Ramna, are now in Shahbagh.

I have made some changes accordingly

Hey, I appreciate you reaching out regarding my changes. Addressing your concerns:
1. I took that from the latest 2022 census, which lists Ramna Thana separately under both Dhaka North and Dhaka South city corporations (see pages 386 to 387 of the National Report) and added the two separate population figures.
2. Yes, I'm aware. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any reliable updated sources (like maps) that delineates the latest thana boundaries, so I decided to publish the latest verifiable info that I knew of.
3. I've consulted the source (2012) again and found that some of those places are listed as part of both Ramna and Shahbagh thanas. I'm not really too worried about the exclusion of conflicting facts. BTW you can read the book here if you'd like to verify it. I've also got a compiled PDF if you'd like.
After all, verifiability is one of the three core content policies of Wikipedia, and my edits were strictly in line with it. I've no qualms about content that doesn't violate WP policies. Bolideleoi (talk) 16:30, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
